ABOUT

Welcome to Pandas… Pandas Child Care Centre is privately owned and operated. Originally a spacious family home, the centre is approximately 20 years old and located in the heart of Elanora. Although its no longer a family home, Pandas Child Care Centre maintains a home like environment to over 130 families and their children.

 

Hours of Operation The centre is open from 7am until 6pm, Monday to Friday. The centre is closed for public holidays and approximately one week between Christmas and New Year.

 

Our Philosophy… Pandas Child Care Centre is dedicated to providing a high quality, nurturing, safe and secure environment. We foster the development of the whole child by providing educational, individualized programs. We respect the diversity within the community and interact with families to create an atmosphere of support and acceptance.

 

Age Groups Panda’s Child Care Centre provides child care and education for children 15months to preschool age. The centre contains four groups:

 

Toddlers       (15mths – 2 yrs)

Junior Kindy (2 yrs – 3 yrs)

Senior Kindy (2 ½ yrs – 4 yrs)

Preschool      (3½ yrs – 5yrs)

 

The centre has been assessed against the National Quality Standard for Early Childhood Education and Care in July 2013. We received an overall rating of Meeting National Quality Standard. We exceeded in Quality Area 5 Relationships with children.

Child Safety

Health & Safety… At Pandas we are very conscious of the environment and act to protect all children. The centre has developed a number of policies and procedures in regards to health and safety issues including, sun safety, nutrition, dental hygiene, supervision of the children, safety of equipment and surroundings, collecting children from the centre, infectious illnesses, immunisation, and medications, just to name a few. These policies are reviewed with staff and families annually, and are available to be viewed at any time.

 

What to bring… Each day families need to provide:Drink (water only)Lunch (no peanut products)A piece of fruit for shared morning teaA healthy snack for afternoon teaWide brim or legionnaire hatChange of clothes 6 nappies and wet wipes (if applicable) All items must have your child’s name clearly labeled. The centre provides sunscreen and bedding, however if your child has a special blanket or toy that they are attached to you are welcome to bring it along.
